Is it soiling on the BC or the scanner trying to autofocus and there is a dust shadow, so it makes it look that way? If just a dust shadow, I think 8.0

Thanks for the input so far guys! That is a dust shadow. I just picked up a small collection of silver age books and non of them have ever been in bags. A lot of them have the dust shadow and notice how the corners seem a little whiter than the rest of the book? Most of them are like that. A little yellow on the back with whiter corners.

Darn, I was really hoping this one could squeak out an 8.0, but I totally agree...that back it taking it down some. Thanks for the feedback!
