The Flee-Marquette 2012 Megacon video con report

72 posts in this topic

Although I didn't get to spend too much time at Megacon this year, I did shoot

some video and will post a video con report as soon as I can get it edited together.

The wife got Friday off from work so we thought that would be the best day to go.

Saturdays at Megacon are incredibly insane with all the anime crowd. We got into

Orlando and grabbed a bite to eat at our favorite noodle house Hanamizuki.

Fortified with a hearty bowl of Shoyu Ramen, we headed over to the Convention

Center. The line was so long, I considered leaving and coming back at another

time. We decided to get in line and see how fast it moved and wound up spending

about an hour to get inside. Good thing we ate before we got there. Once inside

we split up and she headed over to get some autographs and I headed into the fray

to locate the comic dealers. They changed the hall layout this year, which was

confusing, but it did allow for very wide aisles which may help with the congestion.

Right inside the door I ran into the Toon Tumblers booth and chatted with Paul for

a second, before heading over to the forumite gathering area

between Dale Roberts' and Gator's booths. I was warmly greeted through Dale's

peep hole by Dale and Watson.

At the booth at various time during the day, I saw MCMiles, Quality Comix, Theagenes,

Tupenny, KOR, lookwhoitis, joeypost, jiveturkey, Roy, Brulato and Gemma.

In the few hours I was there I also ran into gcstomp, Tom Raupp, Darth Corgi, and

BradleyX2. I was heading out the door when I saw a familiar face and introduced

myself to Foolkiller. I was looking for him and was glad I got to say hi, if only for

a few minutes. :headbang: More con report and the video coming soon. :)

Things were hopping over at Gator's booth too. Always good to talk to the

man behind "ASK GATOR" and his sidekick Bob. They had a most

impressive wall display.

aload of dross, who wants to buy old comics????
