This one almost made my list too. Wanted a Ryan cover on my list, but ran out of numbers. I've learned to appreciate his art over time.

 

I purchased my copy on the boards from Blind Owl (Joe) - a definite keeper!

19. Funny Picture Stories #5 (Comics Magazine)

 

Another intriguing pick!

 

 

I too was surpised by a couple of my own picks. FPS #5 reminds me of a pre-hero DC cvr. FPS V2#7 was a more recent addition, but I like the cover (as well as V2#10).

 

I do like more KDFs, but some of the issues cancelled each other out (V2#7 & V2#10; #18 & #20). I agree, the early Aman issues with Everett cvrs are nice - if I'd seen your Aman #7 before my list, it would've been on it (#8 was a very near miss too).

 

Great lists by everyone so far - I would be happy with any of those as my top 20!

interestingly enough, Centaurs are more appealing inside the covers, in general, than on the covers...that said, finding 20 really cool ones is pretty easy, but many titles just don't lend themselves to "great" covers
