WonderCon 2012: Photo Report

12 posts in this topic

My photos from my very first WonderCon.

Had a lot of fun, hope they bring it back to Anaheim next year or add the city to their yearly rotation!

Positives of WonderCon 2012

1. Local to me!

2. Easy and fast lines to get badges

3. Lines for artists alley very manageble.

4. A lot bigger than expected, lots of booths to check out.

5. Very comic-oriented vs. SDCC

6. Able to get to the Marvel & D.C. booths if you got in line early.

7. Exclusives were pretty easy to snag if you were there for them.

Negatives of WonderCon 2012

1. Parking at the convention was badly attended with lines along the streets for hours just off the freeway (rain and multiple events at the Anaheim Convention Center contributed to this).

2. The Marvel booth didn't manage their lines that well with creators getting too many fans in line and thus late to their panels or needing to go back to their booth. This caused fans who did wait in line for hours getting cut off last minute prior to meeting the artists.

3. Lines for Jim Lee and Scott Snyder were crazy long.

4. Rain on Saturday was so bad that creators cancelled some appearances since they couldn't get parking or were stuck in traffic. Stood in line for 3+ hours to meet Kevin Eastman.

5. The amount of creators at the Anaheim show seemed to be less attended than the San Francisco shows?

6. Not enough money to buy everything I wanted/ =-(

1. J. Scott Campbell doing a whole bunch of signings for CGC after the end of a Con day.

2. Ron Lim doing a quick sketch.

3. Oliver Nome working on comissions at his booth.

4. Joseph M. Lisner at the HERO Inititative booth doing sketches.

5. Gabriel Hardman at the Marvel Booth doing quick sketches. Hardly any line for him on Saturday afternoon since most were lined up for Art Adams (who was not doing sketches).

6. Mark Waid doing a lot of sigs at the Marvel booth.

7. One of the busiest men at WonderCon, writer Scott Snyder had lines all-around for those wanting to get his sig.

8. Andrew Robinson signing some Magic cards for fans.
