I remember being told as a kid..."If you dig in the ground deep enough, you'll come

up in China". I guess that's why this cover made sense to me then.

Certainly a common expression at the time. Came up sometimes in cartoons. You are right, though, that many people today would be puzzled by that cover.

I've always loved that book. I prefer the "serious" Briefer Frankenstein from the fifties, but this one has a great cover for sure.

I like those early Superboy covers. I think 105 has Superboy in a marble game which I wanted. I was never good at the game but some would-be friends were.

Along with DETECTIVE COMICS #168...MYSTERY IN SPACE #1...DANGER TRAIL #1...

and a group of EC's including HAUNT OF FEAR #16...all remainder copies that I picked

up at a corner store in the early 50's, I was also able to buy all six issues of BOY'S RANCH

which contained some truly great art and stories.

Besides the Canadian books you showed me when we first started talking,this is by FAR my fave out of all your books.Still looking for one,but ive told enough folks it cant be long now!!!
