i can see 9.0, perhaps 9.2 if the graders had big lunches and a few beers.

If its a miswrap i dont think it should get above a 9.4 grade. I dont think you get down graded for the grade since see some miswraps in 9.6 and think i have seen a few in 9.8 too.

I don't think CGC takes miswraps into consideration because, as you said, there are plenty of 9.6's and 9.8's with miswraps.

 

However, I think that this book is likely in the 8.0 to 8.5 range due to the color breaking spine ticks.

as far as miswrap hurting grade..even 10.0 has slight miswrap so it is what it is.

I am in the 8.5/9.0 camp (not including the miswrap, of course, as CGC doesn't ding for that, for whatever reason)

I don't think that's less than a 9.0. That said, the miswrap does tend to hurt eye appeal for a lot of collectors.
