There were some amazing sketch covers for sale a few weeks back - it'd be great to see them here, posted by the new owners.

Books, smooks, lets see your true appreciation for Tim Vigil... :)

I created the current Rebel Studios Forum and passed it on to a friend to run. Crazy thing is I recently sold my entire vast Tim and Joe Vigil collection to help finance a 2nd vehicle.

 

But I have some great art pieces.

 

This is actually just the inked version by Tim Tyler (if I remember correctly) but was used in production.

Back in 2002 we, the members of the Rebel Studios forum, started a campaign towards DC to get Tim on as an artist for Batman. He seemed the most logical fit for the job. Espcially considering they had already used two famous, past indy horror artists (Kelley Jones and Sam Kieth) on plenty of Batman projects.

 

Tim actually worked up at least 2 Batman stories of his own that I got to personally see at some of the Wizard conventions. The 1st was a very "dramatic" looking set of pages. The 2nd was more "comedic" but also VERY "mature" in nature. Obviously DC would never see the 2nd set of pages, but I will tell you that were great on so many levels!

 

With Faust coming to an end very soon, it would still be awesome to see Tim get some deserved recognition in the industry for being the very accomplished artist that his is. And, while I love what Greg Capullo is doing on Batman, I still would like to see Tim get an official Batman project.

 

Here is a cover that Tim did for free and submitted to Todd McFarlane to use for FREE... it was rejected. Can you believe that.
