I was more of a Batman fan than Avengers when it came to comic books

growing up, BUT there is no way to hide the fact that the Avengers IS

the best comic book movie ever made.

Plus it made movie making history where 4 movies came together

to create one grand flick. To my knowledge that has never happened before.

I do agree it was pretty cool the way they had the 4 movies lead into Avengers. When it was first announced I honestly wasn't sure they would be able to pull it off.

I can't wait for Avengers blu-ray so I can give it a second viewing.

I only ever saw it once at the cinema.

Where as I am going to see TDKR for a 2nd time on Wednesday and really looking forward to it, I didn't feel like I had to rush back to see the Avengers a 2nd time.

Said it once... I will say it again... really cannot compare the two.

Avengers - A roller coaster of a ride of a movie. No matter how crazy the ride becomes, no matter how fast and no matter the twists and turns. you know that you are going to end up back at the station house. We already knew that the Avengers would win, it was the pacing and how we got there that counted. The cinematography, dialog and pacing were well executed and it was a great ride.

Dark Knight Rises - This was a plot driven film. A lot of people walked into the theater without any real idea of what Nolan was going to bring to us. Sure, we knew bits and nibbles. However, I for one will readily admit that I thought Nolan would kill Bale's characters. The suspense and the plot twists along with solid acting and foreboding cinematography, along with the edits and pacing created a suspenseful and plot driven build up to a climax that at 3am saw audience goers on the edge of their seats. If you take out the Batman costume it is still an excellent movie.

I preferred Avengers

with a split decision going to the zoom-in close up on Scarlett's butt crack VS Anne Hathaways' hourglass shape dinking from side to side as she walked.

I like both Anne and Scarlett, but Anne gets the easy vote from me for who I'm lusting after.

I enjoyed both and for very different reasons.

The Avengers movie is a non stop action flick with great special effects. The all star cast was awesome and the story line was basic. It was funny, thrilling and visually stunning.

The Dark Knight Returns is both an action movie and a cerebral movie. It had a great plot line that tied in the other two movies and brought a cruel/unexpected twist in the end that was masterfully done. The acting was much deeper and well crafted.

For me it's a toss up - the Avengers won't win any Oscars but it was a fun movie, DKR might win a few Oscars and it was a well crafted movie.
