Thor 2 villian revelaed

64 posts in this topic

From my favorite run on any comic book during my lifetime.

Too bad I don't have any faith in their ability to turn into a good Thor movie after I despised the first one.

I've always wanted to buy a high grade run of Simonson's Thor just because it's what got me permanently hooked on comic books, but I guess it's about to get a little pricy.

I doubt it as there are millions of ungraded high grade copies. They are a dime a dozen.

By pricey, I mean more than a dime a dozen which is all I'd be willing to pay.

If people actually want to pay money on purpose for a comic book with Rocket Raccoon in it, then come on, Malekith and Beta Ray bill deserve some love.

I read Hulk 271 recently - complete drivel.  As is Marvel Preview 7.

Give me Simonson's Thor books any day.  Classics.

Thor 344 is still a junk book. :eyeroll:

The issue will have little upward impact.

If you paid $2.00 for this book you probably just lost $3.00.

A terrible villain choice for Thor 2.

They're saving Absorbing Man for the third movie.

Malekith could be great, and I'm sure he will simply be the secondary villain in cahoots with Loki.

Never under estimate the power of movie madness. Hulk 271 is only a little older and a core title. I pulled 2 copies at the LCS for $6 and sold them or $55 on eBay..they were both MID GRADE copies. In addition I have sold a NM copy for $75 and a NM+ for $85. All were raw.

Pull out your copies of Thor # 344!!!!!!

[font:Book Antiqua]And who the F*** is Malekith...?[/font]

???

Malekith the Accursed is a supervillain in the Marvel Universe. He is ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim, and has come into conflict with Thor. He once wielded the Casket of Ancient Winters.

I have never heard of him...And I own a Thor 344. lol

Same.

I was hoping for the Executioner and the Enchantress combo.

Its Thor.

The villain is always Loki.

It always comes back to Loki.

Then its like the Superman movies where he is allways fighting Lex Luthor..

After a while it gets boring

Seriously, do you ever NOT bit-ch about EVERY comic or toy related movie before you've seen it?

As well as needing a prosthetic chin, he'll have to do some work on his very broad Manchester / Salford accent.

I was thinking/hoping Absorbing Man as the villain choice.

An obscure choice, but Marvel will make it work. In fact, they must have a really good idea for the -script to not use a known villian to appease us nerds. I think it increases the likelihood for a better movie.

Malekith might be an obscure character, but the storyline is the most important/influential/popular one in the comic book since the Lee/Kirby days, so it's really a pretty obvious choice. It also helps that it was the BEST story line the series has seen in 40+ years. How much of that winds up in the movie is a whole different matter, of course. I am assuming they're not just using Malekith but the whole Cask of Endless Winters storyline - just plucking him up and dropping him into an unrelated story would be a bit odd. But Loki will still be the main villain anyway.
