Detective 405 (9.0) white pages

 

• Approx five visible spine ticks (light, 1/16” maybe 1/8” each - but you can see them on this dark cover)

• Near-perfect centering

• ULC, LLC (front cover) corners slightly abraided

• LRC (front cover) slight bend/hairline diagonal crease, 3/16”

• Only 3 GPA sales since 2007 & an 8.5 sold on ebay 10 days ago at $123

• Rich color strike & very clean back cover

Batman 245 (9.0) off-white pages

 

• A bit of ULC and LLC spine abrasions (front cover) small, but evident on brown cover

• Small 1/8” x 1/16” diagonal chip out of back cover, top - open edge

• One barely visible 1/16” spine tick, toward lower part of spine

• Very nice copy - must have an interior defect as well. Perfect centering.

Batman 243 (9.0) Cream to off-white pages

 

• Front cover, LRC, 3/16” hairline crease

• Pen stain/mark on the back cover (left of ‘DIG’)

• 1/16” NBC diagonal bend, back cover, lower left corner - very light

• 1 spine tick (NCB) & very light bend near top edge, back cover

 

I do believe this would have a good shot at 9.2 under the press - but who knows.

 

Asking Price: $125 SOLD!

Not a ton of sales data on 9.0s. Saw the Savannah 9.2 rang in at $150 last year.

Batman 242 (NM-/NM)

 

• Great color strike & gloss

• Small amount of NCB stress - open edge, back cover

• I believe this could press out of the NM- borderline range and into solid NM, maybe better... but of course nothing is guaranteed there.

• Purchased from Richard @ Bedrock years ago

• Two miniscule spine ticks, middle of spine

• Top & bottom spine corners very light abrasions

• Top left corner edge of front cover shows two very light bends that barely, barely break color

• Back cover very clean

Batman 230 (9.0) off-white to white pages

 

• Rich color strike

• Perfect spine

• Top & bottom spine corners slightly abraided

• Top edge, front cover two tiny color fleks

• Very light 1/16” tall x 3/4” bend between those color fleks - would press out

• Tiny black dot of debris caught between inner well & outer hard case. Book is unafected

• There is a reflection from the scanner on the right side of the front cover, just below Batman's cape - not a crease/bend

• Nicely centered

• Arrival date in pen, ULC (R 10/24)

• ULC, LLC (front cover) slightly abraided. LRC (front cover) slightly soft

• Approx two hairline spine ticks, each 1/6"

• Difficult to see anything else - excellent copy

 

• Reflection from scanner, to the right of Batman on front cover

(apologies for lousy cell-phone pics, but these old treasuries are tough to get in the scanner)

• VG+/Fine-minus range

• Most of the wear is along the edges (top & right front cover)

• Pages off-white. Cover, more like cream to off-white

JIM #125 (VF-) $48 SOLD!

 

• Superior color strike & nice gloss

• Good off-white to white page quality

• Four or five spine ticks/stresses, front cover

• Very light 1-1/2" bend from bottom edge up, below Thor's right foot

• Tiny 1/4" color-breaking crease into Comics Code Authority, upper right corner

• Back cover is clean, but has three very light non color-breaking bends (two near spine, one diagonal - near Mike Marvel)

• Staples perfectly snug into centerfold (clean & no rust evident)
