Just glad mine got in before the SDCC rush.

Good stuff!

My F5 is getting a workout right now. Also hoping to beat the SDCC rush with my modern submission that went SFG on 7/12.

24 book MODERN submission

July 11 - arrived at CGC

July 12 - SFG

July 12 - credit card charged

July 18 - variants, etc, updated on the form

I noticed a while back that news stands, variants, and all of that are updated a few days ahead of the actual grading. My only mild concern is the Mark's Jewelers one was not updated correctly, but I figure that requires opening the book so they probably leave that to the graders.

What's the holdup on the mags? The TAT say 16 days.

1 of the mags was damaged while with CGC to an extent that it is not gradeable. it appears it will be a lengthy process (lasted about 1 month so far). cgc requires you to sign a legal agreement for the compensation and i have yet to see the legal agreement. it would appear that the other mag may not be finalized until this has been settled.

I have a two book modern sub that was received and SFG on the 9th—when should I be worried? Was hoping this would go through before SDCC clogs the system…

15 business days right now

My modern submission was SFG on the 12th and it just flipped to GEI, so I would not be in the least bit concerned at this point.

5 minutes before closing on Thurs. There is no grading today, so it has basically sat in GEI for one business day so far.

I was trying to think back to past years with SDCC and I cant remember how much it slowed other submissions at CGC. On one hand it is a massive event which makes me thing it could lead to CGC being slammed with submissions for a while. On the other hand, SDCC is not really about comics anymore so a smaller fraction of the crowd will show up with comics than you would find at other comic conventions.

Does anyone remember how this played out in previous years?

Super happy these were grading right at the big rush time! The only thing I am leery about it that a Mark's Jeweler book is listed as just being a news stand even after everything else was updated. Will have to contact customer service about that.

I submitted a few comics that are magazine-sized in the Magazine tier, do they typically get graded at the same rate as actual magazines? I've been reading that the process is often slower than grading regular comics.

While I haven't submitted them in a long time and hesitate to respond, I can confirm:

They used to...

Rumored to only facilitate mags once a month due to machines available and etc.

Hopefully someone else can put the rumor to rest for you? As you'd think by now they'd have acquired equipment, but due to demand idk 😐
