I'm thinking about becoming a member of the CGC Collector's Society soon in order to get comic magazines graded, which have a considerably quicker turnaround time than comic books. However, I don't see myself being a member for longer than it takes to get those magazines graded because the turnaround times on comic books are so slow, especially for the combined price of membership and grading fees. It seems to me that membership is more beneficial to big-time comic sellers and collectors and not so beneficial to collectors on a tighter budget such as myself.

You can still submit books directly to CGC without being a member.

Log in here or create a free account if you don't have one.

Follow the links to here.

You send your books directly to CGC and CGC ships them directly back to you.

 

The only drawback to this method is that you can't track your books online so you'll have to call CGC from time to time to find out the status of your submission.

 

Easy, peasy, and doesn't cost you a cent.

2 Value invoices from 7/5 and 2 Value invoices from 8/30 have been graded. But none of them have been marked shipped yet.

 

Oddly, it was just a few weeks between the 7/5 invoices and 8/30 invoices getting graded. Although some more invoices from 8/30 are still marked as "Scheduled for Grading."

 

Anybody have any Value tier stuff shipped lately? If so, what was the invoice date?

Just received three Pre-Screen Modern invoices from 7/3.

Have a few Pre-Screen Value invoices from the same date showing graded but not yet shipped.

Fast track seems to be a bit slow these days

 

Pretty soon you'll have the better and faster than fast track pricing tier where they guarantee to be better than the old fast track grading and delivery, but no guarantee that it'll be on time.

 

I see a trend of paying more to get in the front of the line. There could be a ton of pricing tiers . I'm thinking they need I do away with all tiers.

 

They could have the pay $20 minimum or more and priority action of the list will just shift by that amount on a daily basis. If you really want your books quick, bid high and early and often.
