30 standard books

Received on 11/26

Verified about a week later

Graded on Jan 31...

STUCK

I hope you either mean they were Value tier, or you meant to type 1/26 instead of 11/26, otherwise I would be on the phone to CGC lighting someone up.

Yep, I have Standard books from 1/24 showing Graded right now - there's no way they would still be at CGC if they were subbed at the end of November.

Has anyone ever had some form of success by complaining to CGC? My personal experience has yielded nothing. Their service has improved but I still get a sense that they know that we as collectors dont really have another choice so sometimes they come across as "so what."

Sorry didnt mean for that rantrant

There is a difference between running a week or two behind their (usually optimistic, unless you subbed moderns) stated TATs, and simply2fly's situation. While TATs are an estimate, and not a guarantee of service, his situation would represent some kind of serious error on their part. If they are truly standard subs, which have a 15 day TAT and cost $60 apiece, and they were actually subbed in late November, he would have something legitimate to complain about.

I'm not saying my case warrants a complaint as it doesn't, I was stating that my interaction with their customer service in the past was less than amazing.

Modern FT submission (4 books) received on 1/29. According to their posted TAT of 18 days, and accounting for one listed con Friday, I'm looking at a due date of 2/25.

Moved to SFG on 2/11. (My FT Economy sub dated 1/21 is still at Verified.)

Moved to Graded on 2/12. (My FT Economy that has been there 8 days longer and allegedly has a similar TAT is still only Verified.)

Shipped/safe on 2/14, which translates to only 11 business days (Feb 7 was a con Friday).

rantrantwarning

Meanwhile, my FT economy order dated 1/21, which has a TAT that is allegedly only two days longer than FT moderns lol is still sitting at Verified. An order that has been there over a week longer than a less expensive tier is languishing in a box somewhere while CGC does the much more important work of getting moderns out in just over half of their stated TAT. As someone who subs a whole lot more economy subs than moderns, this chafes me a whole lot (if you couldn't already tell). Lately this thread is providing a whole lot of evidence for a clear bias towards speeding up moderns at the expense of the other tiers, and my last three subs have all followed this pattern. I can't think of any other explanation for how FT moderns get shipped out while FT economy books with a week's head start are still verified,

End rantrant

It's different grading teams. I'm not really sure what you expect here - should the modern graders just sit around & twiddle their thumbs whilst the SA/GA graders get up to speed?

About 6 months ago the Economy/Value tiers were improving whilst the regular Modern tier was still stuck at 60 (or more) business days - it's pretty clear that these tiers operate independently of one another ...

If that is the case then that is my thing that I learned today. I didn't realize that they operated completely independently, and if that is the case then I'm just irritated with the tortoise-like pace on the non-modern team.

Economy Fast Track (6 books) received on 1/21.

Verified 1/22. According to my math my 20 days (with 2 con Fridays accounted for) will be up on 2/20, so let's see how they do.

Moved to SFG 2/17. There is still time to make the stated 20 day TAT... :wishluck:

30 value books

Received on 11/26

Verified about a week later

Graded on Jan 31...

STUCK

Still not encapsulated or QC'd... is this normal? They've been sitting graded for 2.5 weeks, you'd think they'd want to get them out of there just for storage purposes...

My moderns were shipped within 2 days of being graded. I don't get it...
