Marvel Comics Offices Floor Plan circa 1979-1981

Thanks a million, Ditch.

I visited the Marvel offices in 1980 - May - and I have terrific memories of the visit, but little else.

This floor plan (and associated personnel) marries very well with my aged recollections. I vividly recall chatting with a couple of guys who were proofreading comics, obviously prior to printing. My escort volunteered  that "this is where the proofreading is done" and one of the lads cheerfully offered "and a whole lot of critiquing". lol

Great memories.

It's too bad Spidey didn't make guest appearances in other mags very often in the 60s.

Those crossovers would be epic. I suspect it was because other artists just couldn't/didn't want to draw him.

Useless trivia challenge: Name the first time Spidey appears in the following titles (any appearance, no matter how trivial....but it has to be SPIDEY himself, not just his face on a balloon, picture, or t-shirt)...be careful...some of these are trickier than others..........mwah ha ha haaaa!

Avengers -

Captain America -

Daredevil -

Doctor Strange -

Fantastic Four -

Incredible Hulk -

Iron Man -

Journey Into Mystery -

Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. -

Silver Surfer -

Strange Tales -

Sub-Mariner -

Tales to Astonish -

Tales of Suspense -

X-Men -

I'll start.

Iron Man #212?

Oh wait...you said any appearance...I guess that would be the flashback in Iron Man #169?

Edit:  Anyone know how to reduce the size of social media videos when embedding here?

Huh.  It looks correct in the preview.

US Zone Stamps

CGC Comics Fans

Quote

Hi, I'm new here 1f642.png:-)
Got a nice shipment of books back from CGC and this is one of them. This one (and two others of the lot), has a Grade text on the label which was never done before. I asked the CGC stuff if this would be interesting enough to get an extra note on the label, and it did. Why? Because I think it has a historical significance. The text says: "American Occupation Zone stamp on front cover". Let me explain.

I'm a collector from Austria and over the years, I came across some Golden Age books with a very special stamp on the cover: "15 Cent - US-Zone". A quick history lesson: When the second world war was won by the allied troops, for the next 10 years, Germany and Austria was divided in four different Zones with soldiers deployed in them. There was a Russian, an US, a British and a French Zone and they all had borders. What happened was, that US Soldieres got stuff from the US shipped there, and amongst that stuff were also a lot of Golden Age Comic books. Some of them got stamped on arrival or when they were put up for sale in shops. And they left them here of course. I'm sure most of them were thrown away, but some of them surface from time to time.

There is a better pic of the Grade text in the comments.
