high grade Rare golden age CGC - Price drops! Added FF #30-#50

I am listing some extraordinary golden age books [most of which are scarce in or out of grade] on behalf of a friend - and my friend will deal with payments and shipping. My friend is based in the U.S. so domestic shipping will apply unless you live elsewhere.

 

The usual rules apply. No probies or trolls allowed.

I think his prices are well thought out and very reasonable. He may be open to reasonable counters on certain books depending on the given book and other boardies level of interest. All final decisions will be his.

 

These are all very nice books - some are you'll agree quite extraordinary, such as what may be the highest graded St John Baker cover romance book, and another which is a rare digest - one of the rarest of all. Great cover too. [i covet this one myself]. Others include some of the great horror covers, including a stonking copy of Thing! #12 and the very scarce War Fury #1. Plus a high grade copy of the first comic ever to feature Katy Keene. And a high grade copy of Namora #2!

 

I asked my friend to supply comments for each book - thse are posted with the relevant listing.

War Fury 1 CGC 4.5 - $500

 

Presents amazingly well for a VG+. War Fury #1 has long been a favorite with War and flame thrower collectors but its under appreciated in general. This classic Don Heck cover was used on the more simplistic and better known, Horrific #3. In my opinion, this gruesome cover blows away its successor.

Wilbur 5 CGC 7.0 OWW - First Katy Keene - $1000 $950

 

This is an incredible copy of the first appearance of Katy Keene. The page quality on this example is second to none, I was absolutely stunned that CGC did not give this book White pages. Presents amazing for its assigned grade.

Pictorial Confessions 3 CGC 9.4 OWW Double Cover - $2000 $1800

 

This has to be one of the highest graded examples of any Baker Romance cover in existence. Not to mention, its a Double Cover. This CGC 9.4 is far and away the single highest graded example ever seen at CGC. Main cover image by Baker and the two small images are Kubert and Sparling.

Wartime Romances 6 CGC 8.0 - $600 $550

 

This is a rare opportunity for the Baker collector as examples in this condition range are not offered for sale often. This example has received the highest grade ever assigned at CGC and shares that top spot with just one other example. The structure of this copy is about as good as it gets and appears much nicer than its assigned technical grade.

Menace 11 CGC 4.5 OWW - First Human Robot from Agents of Atlas - $275 SOLD!

 

This is a respectable copy of the final issue from the Atlas Menace run. This issue is special because of the early John Romita story that features the Human Robot, a character that was resurrected by Don Glut in the classic What if tale, What if the Avengers were from the 1950s. This issue also inspired the more recent interpretation titled Agents of Atlas. Incidentally, the character is aptly named M-11.

Men's Adventures 26 CGC 4.0 - First Gorilla Man from Agents of Atlas - $275SOLD!

 

 

Offered here is another "key" Pre-Code horror book because it features the first appearance of a character in Agents of Atlas, Ken Hale the Gorilla Man. This book is tough to find in any condition and is also desirable because of its creepy Russ Heath cover.
