I agree, I wouldn't mind having some of those on my shelf. If you a buying reading copies that you don't plan on selling I think those bound hardcover would look much nicer then have a bunch of loose issues lying around.

Pretty cool. I wouldn't want to do that with my own books but what a nice way to flip through 50 issues in a row and they make a nice book shelf additional.

Actually I remember from time to time there was someone on Ebay auction off a whole run of Amazing Spider-man from 1 to 100, and I think also the annuals that were bookbinding,.........

Why would we be horrified? He's not using the original issues to crank those compiled volumes out. I've seen several of those bound books containing original issues, but that doesn't appear to be what the guy at your link is doing.

I've had a number of my favorite runs from the 80s bound by DP Banks and have been very happy with the results. You can buy significant runs of mid-grade books at auction for pretty reasonable prices, so I've done that and had them bound as reading copies.

My mistake, then. Seemed like they were originals.... at least for some of them.
