this company makes PGX look classy

decided to get this... thing out of curiosity. was worth the price for a reading copy and a laugh. the "slab" is that annoying plastic that electronics come encased in to prevent theft. and it offers maybe as much protection as a bag and board... maybe. if PGX is run out of a basement, this "company" must be run out of a half-bathroom?

Looks undergraded...might be time for a resub! :P

well, besides getting a reader, that was another possibility. these giant-size books often have really gnarly, but pressable spines. not really the case here, might have been slightly undergraded but not worth the cost of slabbing.

They are still in business if anyone cares. comicbookgrading.com

Now we know what it looks like and what kind of protection a .55ml PVC clamshell provides. Which is to say not much. They trumphet the clamshell as "shatterproof". I guess one way to keep it from shattering is to make it so flexible it bends with a finger poke...

I find it humorous that they claim to be the first company with where you can check the grading progress of your books at no extra charge. Which isn't true, Dealer accounts have no extra charge. They also claim to provide "the industry's first and only Search & Verify System™ - so that you may enter the serial number of a graded comic to verify the authenticity of the comic." which clearly isn't true. CGC has the same service front page of their website.

Great post - thanks

Here's another cheap-o grading company. Not surprisingly, they are no longer in business. The quality of their holder is somewhere in between CGC's and the "Comic Book Grading Company" one you have.
