I'm not surprised about the white pages though, I'd already admired the brightness of the colours on the cover before I read the page quality.

Page quality is not necessarily related to wear: it depends on where the book was stored, in the action of the atmoshperic agents.

 

I think it is a real threat when you find a rare, or a coverless book, with great page quality. Not only it’s more affordable, but it will also last probably more than a heavily tanning VF+ copy.
