The art of healing, renewal & restoration. Post 'em if you got 'em...

[font:Times New Roman]Seems to me that restored books just don't get no respect at all. Someday, maybe Randy Newman will write a song about it.

There are literally dozens of threads that concentrate on the perils of restoration, but few if any that pay homage to the survivors, those books lovingly brought back from the abyss by professional archivists. Conservationists are on the front-lines, and the survival rate of damaged comics is unprecedented today.

Dear friends, these tragically misunderstood charmers deserve a better fate than obscurity! So to start this thread, here are several brave books which have come out of the closet to display their true colors without fear...

Now it's your turn, folks! Let your restored books stand tall and march in this purple-pride parade without shame!

It's the dawning of a new age! Give your purple books their due![/font] smiley-galerija.gif

Awesome books guys. There is nothing wrong whatsoever with conserved or restored books, as long as the work done is revealed to the buyer! They represent a great value when compared to unrestored issues. The main reason they get a bad wrap (pun intended) is because collectors were getting cheated by overpaying on them years back, as their unrestored gems turned out to be repaired. That kind of sting is hard to swallow and leaves a bad taste, so it's easy to see why people have a bad feeling when it comes to restored books.

I guess you could call this healing and renewal, but I thinks it's probably closer to straight up resurrection. This book was on life support and heading towards the big white tunnel before Matt and Kenny did their thing.
