BB-Gun Posted March 8, 2011 Share Posted March 8, 2011 (edited) What I am trying to say is the other other companies, like Atlas, Star and Harvey, were dripping with talent but EC used stories by Feldstein, Craig and Bradbury and a host of other writers and produced a consistently good product, e.g., this splash from Harvey's Chamber of Chills is oozing talent. It's hard to be at his or Bailey's level when it comes to pre-code horror covers but a number of the EC gang could do that on occasion as could Bill Everett. Well that skull has been reused by Star in a couple of covers already and since All-Famous Police Cases was also a Star publication it makes more sense. Look at how heavily shadowed the man's face is yet his hand is remarkable "lightly" drawn...I think these little quirks add to these covers. Look at the colors in that guy's face too! Wild stuff!
