I thought I read about Blue Coal being treated with solvents to make it easier to burn or fill coal shutes. It seems kind of fuzzy. We needed a good furnace in Michigan. The winters were awfully cold and there was no bus service to the poor side of town. Yes it was a mile and a half walk to school uphill both ways when the temperature was 10 degrees below zero Fahrenheit. I grew up in Monroe which was the home of General Custer. Others are still missing though from the initial theft. I posted the known missing books on a thread earlier.
