This one I did scan back in 2005, just got it redone (much larger than I post them here, so as to not clog up page widths.) Hey, only 13 years before it made it back to a scanner bed...

Look at how the prisoners head size is exaggerated into a caricature. Plus black and orange get you ready for that last day in October. My favorite Jack Cole cover. A masterpiece.

Add to that the guard's body posture and expression of horror and you have a well rounded classic cover! The three little "Ha, Ha, Ha's" really add to it also as not to confuse anyone that he's an evil baddie! (thumbsu

As well as the mouth. Cole always does a great job on little details like the teeth and gums. You can tell a master by the way they do the hands. Amazing book

Always wanted a copy of this book. Great cover and underrated interiors. Very happy to finally have one. Crime with a little smidgeon of horror thrown in. The strangler story is fantastic.

Congrats, I was bidding on this one but dropped out around $900 since I already have a 7.5.

It’s definitely one of Cole’s best crime covers!

Thank you, and thank you for dropping out when you did ?. I just wish the under bidder had followed suit. They cost me an extra couple of hundred over what I was hoping to pay, but I’m still very happy with it...

Never knew this was a first issue! Got this years ago on the cheap. I'll have to dig it out again and read it. Nice to hear it's getting some interest. (thumbsu
