AtlasFan
I've got others, too. I posted some in the Grading forum. I can post them here again. Its a shame that Buscema didnt do more pre-hero sci-fi covers. This is one of my favorite covers by Big John.

Blind Owl
Thanks Angelo!!! That's got to be one of my all time favorite JIM books!!! I remember buying that copy from a little corner store ( It was called Straub's) next to my house in Chicago when I was only about 5 or 6 years old. It has a special place in my heart!!! Hulk kinda of reminds me of the Bugs Bunny cartoon with the Mad Scientist and the Monster!!! I used to have a decent copy but sold it!!! I now want another one!!!! AtlasFan
Here is my 2nd wave of TTA. Great Steve Ditko cover: One of my favorite covers, Gorgilla: a fanother fantastic Kirby/Ditko collaboration: Love this cover. It would have made a wonderful Sci-Fi movie poster: This is another White Mountian. I really like the brown backgrounds - they are not as colorful as some of the DC Sci-Fi, but they sure do catch the eye. Remarkable stuff. cheetah
I really like the brown backgrounds - they are not as colorful as some of the DC Sci-Fi, but they sure do catch the eye. Remarkable stuff. My favorites are the brown and orange/brown covers, too. My daughter has a stomach bug and is puking up green beans. Probably won't get anymore of mine posted till tomorrow maybe. AtlasFan
That TTA 29 cover is AWESOME! Don't see that one very often... (thumbs u It is truly one of my favorite covers. Not only are the descending aliens seem endless and go on beyond the horizon, but Kirby gave a lot of detail to the masses in the crowd.
adamstrange
Nice books, AtlasFan! This seems very cinematic to me as well -- I'm surprised that it hasn't been lifted as an idea for a movie scene.

selegue
PRE-HERO ALTAS THROW-DOWN!!!! I will start things off with a smattering of TTA... Great homage to King Kong! These are fantastic! Is that really a giant super-turtle in there? Vandoom - he's big, he's bad, he's ...wax? How did all those guys manage to keep their hats on? Usually they go flying when the monster shows up! rodan57
To me this is a very significant title amidst two others. My starting date for collecting Silver Age Marvels is with the return of Kirby full-time to the "company with no name" and Strange Worlds #1 Dec. 1958; Tales to Astonish #1 Jan. 1959 and Tales of Suspense #1 Jan. 1959 --- all September 1958 releases. Strange Worlds #1 "I Discovered the Secret of the Flying Saucers" Lee, Kirby & Rule "I Captured the Abominable Snowman" Lee & Ditko "I Am Robot" Lee & Heck Tales to Astonish #1 "We Found the Ninth Wonder of the World" Lee, Kirby & Rule "I Know the Secret of the Poltergeist!" Lee & Ditko Tales of Suspense #1, January 1959 "I Dared Explore the Unknown Emptiness" Lee & Heck "Prisoners of the Satellites" Lee & Ditko Kirby joins Ditko and Heck ---and the three, with Lee, begin to ramp up to the Marvel Age: science fiction becomes fantasy and fantasy in Nov. 1961 becomes the fantastic.
