The idea behind Bishop is interesting, but poorly executed.

 

I always liked it, but it seemed that the entire premise of his character would run it's course at some point. When I started reading newer books about 8 months ago - I was stunned to see that Bishop was still around rambling on about the future and dedicating himself to preventing it from happening. In 20 years they couldn't figure out something else for him to do and have his character evolve?
