So, I think it's done. What do you think?

 

I removed Longshot's mini to get it closer to 100. And I cut ASM 361 and 365 (due to those being released in '92...I'll move those to my "Modern" list (thumbs u )

 

I'd like to get Marvel Comics Present 72 in there (Weapon X), and maybe ASM's Gang War, and maybe Darkhawk 1, but to do so, I'd need to get rid of anything that's not in Marvels 616 Universe, so no GI Joe, no Star Wars, no 'Nam. Not sure it's worth it. Or I could up it to 125. hm

Number 4 - Silver Sable - I don't get why it's on the list...

 

Avengers 257 - would not have been on the list 2 weeks ago ,( kind of like a 2012 movie being on a list of greatest 100 movies of all time), but I'm ok with it

 

And how about some props to Dr. Balls for the idea?

As for Dr. Balls, I do like his top 500 list, but I don't see why I'd give him props for this list (unless he's got something I missed). However, I've been working on developing a Copper Age list for me to focus on since late last year. Sure, it's nothing compared to what he's done, and this little list of 100 certainly doesn't impede on his list, but it's helping me focus on the era I grew up on.

You just have to add some Power Pack (your choice) – the whole series idea was highly original, despite any possible distaste. Superheroism portrayed genuinely, and immediately, through the eyes of children.

 

If you have included such a thing as Fantastic Four #320, there must definitely be more place for well-written series like the New Mutants and X-Factor, besides Power Pack. Louise Simonson has been a great writer. ;)

It is a great series for kids. I thought it was very well done. 27 was hot in the 80's for a nanosecond. I have a copy of 27 signed by Tyler Mane. I really want to get a 1 signed by Simonson and Brigman. I can't think of another title from the 80's that was written and drawn by two ladies.

After some deliberation, I've decided to restructure the Copper 100 lists and focus on Marvel from the 80s and then another list for Marvel in the 90s. Seems like I'm missing some great books that just miss my 1984 start date, and I want to include some of those.

 

Of course, I'm sure that I'll have to leave off some from late '79, but I can live with that.

 

Thanks for the help everyone. I'll post my 80s list once I have a draft.

I have to ask why the first Carnage and the two Spider-Man #1's were removed.

If you're going to have a "must own" list and omit those books, it's incomplete.
