Affleck could play Lex with long, blonde hair. He could do it.

You know it would be auburn hair - not blonde.

True. Affleck's unorthodox but Academy Award wining Lex would sport auburn tresses.

Now if we can just take all those 'VOTE FOR PEDRO' t-shirts out of wardrobe storage and insert 'AFFLECK' your job will be complete.

That's fan made. It has the "credits" from Man of Steel at the bottom. Plus it's really awkward poster…took me a second to really focus on what exactly we are seeing here.

Real movie is "V" not "VS"

Plus it shows 'Summer 2015' which means it was probably an early fan-made poster when the news first came out.

I'm not really bashing his some of his roles, but this whole thing seems like a step backwards for him.

Secure yourself in a billion dollar franchise series as a character five other actors (including Will Arnett lol ) have played for a little over twenty years.

He was doing so well with the modest budgeted intimately character driven movies as a director/producer too. A lot of you will say, "So what? It will open doors for them to get greenlit now", but sadly Hollywood envy will set in and he can kiss any awards goodbye now. I doubt any vehicles he helms will get a nomination now. Hollywood politics. Chris Evans realized this and started to get cold feet earlier this year.

My main point, Batman is my favorite, Affleck will probably be great, but I was hoping for a different direction for Affleck's career after Argo exploded with acclaim. I guess it's just the fact he took the "paycheck" (he did get mentioned before about helming a Justice League movie), when he was finally learning the "art" of cinema. My 2c

I would consider this a step forward for Ben Affleck, and not backward.

The Batman paycheck will set him and his children and grandchildren financially up forever. You can`t really be disappointed in his decision. This goes to show it`s about money. He could go make three more Oscar winners like Argo, and none of those will set him up financially up for life like one Batman paycheck will. Jack Nicholson earned 60 million to play the Joker.

JACK NICHOLSON got 60 million to play Joker.

So Ben Affleck made a wise decision.

Consider it a "step forward" when there's years of associated press reported bad-behavior at casinos then. lol

Ben was a better Hollywood person behind the scenes as he entered his 40's and you know what? He was pretty dang good at it for his past credentials. But, he had to bust his azz to get our repect for him again.

He's gonna be a great Batman/Bruce Wayne, but he's gonna get painted in a corner by being typecasted for popcorn roles, like Kevin Costner did after following-up Dances With Wolves with Robin Hood. Your never gonna see an Oscar campaign "Now an important movie experience from actor who played Batman". You also cannot compare him to Jack Nicholson. Nicholson is/was a Hollywood entity, that it gravitates to. He had to play the Joker. It was custom made to him. He took a chance in taking a pay cut to at the time also, because the movie was so dark, no one really knew where it was gonna go. Nicholson and company were pleased with the dailies, but there was a chance it would fail.

I just see him cashing out* of Hollywood after finally getting some quality Matt Damon kind of respect.

But...

Nicholson did get the gold for "As Good As It Gets".

...so you never know. hm

*I was going with a Paycheck movie reference in last night's post.

Batman solo movie in 2019

According to sources, I'm hearing the studio is eyeing 2019 for the standalone Batman film and I even got a working title: THE BATMAN.

So stock up on those books now. You never know.

(:

I see the bubble bursting on these books myself. :jokealert:

Bob Kane died in what? 1995? So, what's that? 51 years before Batman might fall into public domain? The crash is coming folks! :ohnoez:

We're going to see how that 'never an Oscar once a superhero' trend plays out. RDJ is already being talked about due to his new movie for a recommendation.

Nicholson took a pay cut and instead opted to take a percentage of the total box office haul of Batman. That was the only way he would agree to do the film. Also, I agree that Ben will do a good job in this upcoming film but considering the man essentially produces, directs, writes and stars in his own films, I don't think he'll have trouble landing the roles he wants.
