COMICLINK October focused auction - slow going so far!

13 posts in this topic

I have 30+ pieces in the current clink auction and have been watching the prices slowly rise over the last ten days. I have been generally underwhelmed with the progress and have a few items still at $1 dollar (5 of 'em). This is the tail end of my first consignment. I know it really means nothing until the auctions get to the final day or so. But still.

And then tonight I decided to look over the auction as a whole instead of my seller page. I was surprised to see my highest item (a great 5 artist Batman jam) is the second highest item in the OA auction so far. There are 5 pages of OA, so this kinda changed my perspective a bit. Suddenly I wasn't so depressed about what everyone thought about my gems!

With every obvious self-interest in mind, I gotta say there are a ton of bargains under $100 at this point. Again, I know it is early, but is anyone else watching these? And are you surprised at the slow going so far?

I don't think anyone should be that surprised when the first thing you see when you visit the auction page is "For Higher End Artwork, Preview the Next Featured Auction". I'm sure plenty of people decided to heed the advice and wait for the November featured auction.

good point.

It is certainly not "high end" art but I must admit that the pieces I consigned were tough to let go. I pictured about 10 of the ones I consigned on my blog (see my sig) if anyone is interested. They seem to be low still, but it is all good.

Okay, picking up slowly but surely! And I just saw something in the featured auction I need to own so this low end stuff better hop to it! In fact, I own it now in my mind and the rest of you will be clued in to that reality on Dec 5th!

I love this hobby, gotta tell you!

Okay,last chance...auctions ending soon now.

I am happy with my results, at least what they will be. But most of the items I consigned cost at least $100 and are still under $100 on comic link. I understand it because the market for lower end items is small, but there are great deals to be had in this range
