PGM Marvel Tales Annual 1 with "glue" question

8 posts in this topic

Marvel Tales Annual #1. A few problems it might be hard to see here: Light "cracks" through the letters "VEL Tales" at upper right front cover but very little color break (mainly in "Tales"). Crinkling at spine, especially lower half front cover. There's a bump just below the middle of the open edge front cover (at "Giant Man") affecting several pages. Creasing lower right corner. Most interested in how grade is affected by separation of cover from glue at top spine for about 3" down -- but there is NO spine separation (i.e. no tears). Whew! Thanks for input!

Since I suspected no restoration on this book, there are four creases that broke the color, the spine came off at the top spine (that may be an impacted corner) and reading creases along the spine.

I give it 4.0 to 4.5. It would be 5.0 or 5.5 if it is not for the impacted corner that caused the partial detached cover.

It's still a nice finding. Many copies are ended up in Good and Fair ranges.
