Retreads: Most reprinted comics?

12 posts in this topic

Some of the earliest comics I remember reading were my older cousin's Plops, Witching Hours, Weird Wars and GI Combats. Now that I've returned to collecting after a long absence, I've been interested in some titles like Witching Hour. And when it comes to horror comics, it seems that reprints abound.

That in turn got me to thinking...what are some of the most reprinted comics or even stories within a comic? Marvel, it seemed, could really get some mileage out of reprints.

Any insights from you longtime readers and collectors?

Micronauts #2 definitely.

Maybe Spawn #32 at a close 2nd.

DC has stated in the past that O'Neil/Adams run on Green Lantern 76-89 are the most reprinted comics of all time.

It seems questionable claim given books like Action 1 and ASM but there are a lot of reprints of the GL issues. .

I knew this subject sounded familiar.

Most Reprinted Comic Book?

Ah man, and that's only a month old. *hangs head*

I don't mind that threads sometimes get repeated, but when it's just a month old thread, that's just ...sigh...

Goes to stand in corner.

Spideyfan, Micronauts #2 is the last thing I would've expected. Any particular reason why?

It's no big deal when a topic gets repeated, just saying there's some useful information in that thread.

I know they started printing the Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope issues over again in the UK weeklies, I just don't remember which issue. I'm thinking it was in the Empire Strikes Back Weekly. There is also at least 1 Japanese reprint of the Marvel Star Wars: A New Hope adaptation. It was a reprint from a few years ago and just sold a week or two ago on E-Bay. There might also be a Hebrew edition of the Star Wars 1, but I haven't been able to confirm this. I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting some other reprints as well.
