Spy Smasher was one of those old serial movies. And three were 2 Green Hornet movie serials also. Green Hornet and Green Hornet Strikes Again.

Bought the complete Hanna Barbera series to Josie and the Pussycats today. Mainly for the Dan DeCarlo documentary that came with it (also got Necessary Evil: Villians of DC Comics).

Can't wait to check it out.

Good catch! I'm surprised that wasn't mentioned before. When I saw "Faust: Love of the Damned", I assumed it was a made-for-TV movie.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has a CG reboot movie with Sarah Michelle Geller doing the voice of April O'Neal. I actually liked it.

 

Here's an interesting old one. Not based on a comic (there was a Masked Marvel comic though).

Does 'My Super Ex-Girlfriend' count as a comic book movie?

 

Writer Don Payne conceived of the idea of his first film while working on The Simpsons television series, saying that as a fan of comics, the idea of a romantic comedy with a superhero twist was "a fitting first feature". The spec -script (at that time called Super Ex) attracted the attention of production company Regency Enterprises and director Ivan Reitman, and the film was fast-tracked for production. Filming took place over four weeks in New York City and featured Westchester high school Port Chester High School for the main characters' high school scenes.

 

I guess not, since it was more influenced by comic books, and not an adaptation.

However, Buck Rogers started in the pulps ("Amazing Stories") and only later became a comic strip.

 

The Shadow definitely does not belong on the list... based entirely on the long-running pulp magazine (which in turn was inspired by a radio show).
