Price blew up too fast...dealer/speculator driven was certainly part of it but the $300K sale certainly opened some eyes. There are several nice copies coming up for auction in the next month or so, be interesting to see if these price levels can be maintained.

Why is it speculation when I anticipate price increases coming?

 

I can say that about every movie book that jumps in price.

 

Where are the Ms. Marvel #1 threads? Nova #1? MSH #18? etc.

 

Seems a lot of "Collectors" speculate when they are ordering the books off my website the day the movie news comes out.

When that happens, it pays to be a seller at the front of the line.

 

I agree with bronze copper and later but when it comes to SA key, no matter how much I thought I was making a profit or a killing, the price was higher the next time I looked to buy.

 

Prices may have spiked fast and may level or even drop a bit but history so far tells us that these crazy marvel funny books are here to stay.

I think he won it at a good price also, but the cover's color doesn't seem to be as bright as other similar copies. Maybe that had a slight effect on bidding?

I did as well. The cover seemed a touch faded which may have kept the price down but someone down the road won't care. They'll just want a copy in Fine grade.

 

Dealers bid on books all the time ready to scoop one up on the cheap.

 

Should we try to reveal the buyers of all the other books now? lol

Not freaking out. Just if you are going to say I did something, I would prefer that it be accurate.

 

I would have paid that for that book. But I didn't.
