Beautiful cover! Is the background regular pencil and ink?

Thanks guys! Background is zip-a-tone delicately cut out to make the images. And then pen/ink to make the dark lines of the buildings. All on one art board, no overlay.

 

Joe Rubinstein said it was extremely difficult and he remembers that part of the job in particular. It is all pristine condition.
