Zenescope fake covers?

16 posts in this topic

While sorting my comics, I got 2 issues of Grimm Fairy Tales that had a high gloss photo-paper like cover, kinda like a TPB cover.. Grimm Fairy Tales #10 and #74 WW Philly Exclusive.. Can anyone that has either or both of these issues confirm my suspicions?

So you're saying they're definitely real? I really don't know why anyone would (maybe because of limited print run and variant covers being worth more?), but if they did, and I own a copy, I'd like to know. It might have been a personal restoration or whatever..

Thanks for your question/answer though! :)

Grimm Fairy Tales #10:

Note that it has this weird staple like line of indents, the other comic doesn't even have that..

Wow.. I guess Zenescope just tried something different for a single issue.. weird. Or maybe you got a fake too haha! ;P I don't even remember where I got it, that's why I'm confused. I didn't get it from the LCS, I know that.

Thanks!!

If anyone has a cover that's not like that, please let me know.

Neither are fake. Wizard World 74 was printed on the glossy cover stock that they use for a lot of the LTD 100s by accident.

The GFT 10 was printed trade style as were a few other issues in that range (experimenting with cover stock)

I know the early Zenescope "variants" that were exclusives for certain companies and shows were poorly made, even the covers were cut oddly sometimes taller or shorter than the book itself, and what seemed almost like flimsy color photo copies.
