ASM #1 Vol. 3 Store Exclusive Variants? - Neal Adams, Perkins, Samnee

39 posts in this topic

I've been seeing a lot of store exclusive variants popping up recently for the upcoming ASM re-launch.

Most notably, Neal Adams' cover is exclusive to a store here in Montreal, ExpertComics.

There's Discount Comic Book Services' cover by Chris Samnee.

And finally, Mile High's by Mike Perkins.

Out of curiosity, besides the Midtown exclusive variants which haven't surfaced yet, are there any I'm missing?

Just found one more variant from Brave New World/Laughing Ogre:

Keep in mind, all these variants are just the store variants and not the regular (1:25, 1:50, etc.) variants. It's getting pretty stupid.

I like collecting variants because a lot of the time the variants are nicer covers, but even I'm getting tired of the 30 different covers that come out. I think their strategy of creating collectibility is doing the opposite. But anything for money I guess. :ohnoez:

I don't get why it bothers people so much. It helps the company/market and you can avoid them if you want. I'll occasionally pick up one or two if I really like the cover, but otherwise I stay away.

As an ASM collector, more power to Marvel if they can release 50 covers and sell well. It looks like they'll do well with this one.
