Would 1.5 be pushing it for these books?

 

#1 The spine seems to have been completely tapped. Yet, it doesn't seem to have more than 1" spine spilt. Contains some mold on the back that can and maybe cut out hm

 

#4 Just has the luck of having a ratted spine. No complete splits at the bottom or top. Missing 3 MM of the spine.

If not for the tape I'd put the #1 at 1.5, as is I'd call it a FR+. Since CGC doesn't recognize that grade, and as a result there is no generally accepted number for it, 1.0 or 1.5 both work for me.

 

The #4 is what I call beat but complete, as it has no chunks out, and is actually holding together, it's another one you could call a 1.5 as readily as a 1.0.

 

Short answer: You're not pushing the grades beyond acceptability, and they speak for themselves anyway.
