That's a pretty cool list!

I'm sorry to say that I hardly know any of them.... but there's some great looking work there. I'd be glad to be anywhere on that list :luhv:

The problem I have with a lot of these artists is; as talented as they may be, their work looks too much like somebody else's. I suppose it's always been so, but I'm getting old and have less interest in making the effort to appreciate the subtle differences between them. For me to get excited about new artistic talent, they generally have to be teamed with a writer I already expect, or work in genre that I'm predisposed to take a look at - like crime or underground type comics.

I was never much for Allred... until I read the new Silver Surfer. I haven't been this excited to read the next issue of Surfer since 1987.

#9 should be #1 for me

and Rafael Grampa should be at least mentioned just incase Furry Water gets released

+1 for Rafael Grampa

There's an artist who's unique style deserves much wider recognition.

He's like a grungy Moebius.

Havn't seen it yet and couldn't get near Allred at ECCC. He lives in my hometown and I keep thinking I'll just bump into him at the market or pub.....but nothing yet :)

9. Francesco Francavilla looks good. 28. Declan Shalvey does too and also 71. Marcos Martin. I love a poster size print of that street scene.

I'm kind of the opposite. I was a big fan of Allred's Madman, and especially his valentine to the Silver Age, the Atomics, though the last run of Madman felt overindulgent to me. I've leafed through his new Marvel work with Matt Fraction and can't really find a reason to pick it up - probably in large part because I've never felt engaged by anything I've read of Fraction's.
