Bosco685
Both Michael Keaton And J.K. Simmons Exit Legendary's KONG: SKULL ISLAND It looks like Legendary and director Jordan Vogt-Roberts are going to have to begin searching for a couple of terrific actors for lead roles in Kong: Skull Island fairly pronto, as they've lost both Michael Keaton and J.K. Simmons. According to Deadline, the "principal reason" behind their departure is scheduling conflicts, as the project recently pushed back its production start by a few weeks from the fall to before the end of the year. Thor's Tom Hiddleston remains on in the lead role.

Bosco685
‘Kong: Skull Island': Russell Crowe & Brie Larson Circling Roles The Wrap is reporting that Russell Crowe may be in line to join the cast of Kong: Skull Island. Presumably, he would serve as a replacement for either Keaton or Simmons, though the report didn’t specify which role he would take on. It’s worth noting that Crowe is awaiting the latest draft of the -script, and his involvement is by no means a foregone conclusion just yet. Meanwhile, THR‘s Borys Kit has revealed (via his Twitter account) that Brie Larson is in negotiations to join the Skull Island cast as the female lead. Larson can currently be seen in the Amy Schumer comedy Trainwreck, but she has a fair amount of experience in indie dramas (Short Term 12) and big-budget Hollywood spectacle (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) from the past year fives. In Skull Island, she would star opposite leading man Tom Hiddleston. Maybe this film may move forward for real.
Bosco685
‘Kong: Skull Island’ Eyes ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Actor For Its Cast Variety is reporting that Corey Hawkins (who plays Dr. Dre in the upcoming NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton), is in talks to join Hiddleston as part of the Skull Island cast. Hawkins has been getting buzz for his performance as the legendary rapper, after having played smaller roles in such films as Iron Man 3 and Non-Stop; he will soon appear on The Walking Dead season six, too. As such, Legendary Pictures, which is producing both Straight Outta Compton and Skull Island, reportedly wants to keep Hawkins in the fold as his profile rises. Darkowl
I actually really enjoyed the Peter Jackson version. The double t rex fight scene was I would love to see Brie Larson in a Kong remake. Russell Crowe...eh...not so much. Btw, Target has these on sale for only $10. I picked one up the other day. It's a Bluray/DVD set that comes in a pretty cool tin casing (you may only be able to buy them in-store).

Bosco685
Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Wilkinson may join Kong: Skull Island Deadline reports that, in addition to STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON's Corey Hawkins joining the cast, KONG: SKULL ISLAND is in early talks with Samuel L. Jackson for a role in the film. Jackson would take over the role that J.K. Simmons was set to play. The studio is also looking at John C. Reilly as a potential replacement for Michael Keaton's role. It does appear that Tom Wilkinson has officially signed on to a lead role in the film but it is unknown who he will be playing. This was funny in the comments section. It's considered bad luck to not have Sam Jackson in a movie. I thought that was Morgan Freeman.

Bosco685
New Casting Call For KONG: SKULL ISLAND Seemingly Reveals The Film Is A Sequel To Peter Jackson's 2005 Film A new casting call has been released by Acting-Auditions for Kong: Skull Island, via Scified. This casting call not only reveals the film's possible plot, but it also showcases that this film seemingly connects and is a sequel to the 2005 King Kong film directed by Peter Jackson. Even though we all saw King Kong die at the end of the 2005 film, if this plot has any credibility, somehow, someway, King Kong survived! Does he have a secret healing factor? Who knows, but if this new film is indeed a sequel film, does this mean that Jack Black will reprise his role? "Kong: Skull Island" takes place years after the original film. In 1933, American showman, Carl Denham returned from a mysterious, hidden island with a priceless treasure. A treasure not gold or jewels, but the island's barabric god, a monstrous anthropoid called "Kong." The savage giant escaped and wreaked havoc among the man-made canyons of Manhattan, but within hours of the giant apes death his body, and Carl Denham, disappeared. Many years later, the son of Carl Denham makes a shocking discovery that leads him back to the site of his father's greatest adventure and to the answers that will unlock the century's greatest mystery and history's greatest miracle. Bosco685
JURASSIC WORLD Scribe Derek Connolly Set To Work On KONG: SKULL ISLAND Colin Trevorrow isn't the only writer reaping the benefits of Jurassic World's colossal success. His longtime screenwriting partner Derek Connolly also had a hand in creating the most successful movie of the year (so far). Now he's has been brought on board another Universal/Legendary monster movie - the Jordan Vogt-Roberts helmed Kong: Skull Island. According to THR, Connolly is set to do some last minute touch-ups to the film's -script - which has already been worked on by the likes of Max Bornestein (Godzilla), John Gatins (Flight) and Tony Gilroy (The Bourne Ultimatum). Given that the movie is only two months away from the start of filming in October, this development raises a few red flags. Will the arrival of Connolly steady the ship?
