I'll let the OP definitively answer you but what you are seeing is usually the result of a glare when the top edge is slightly bent. It looks like it breaks color but it's just a reflection.

Bomber-Bob is right about the top edge slightly bent due to cover overhang, but it's not creased enough to break color. I'm going to send it in to be pressed which should straighten it out nicely.

Gorgeous book - would love to have one even close to as nice.

 

This is a solid 9.0 in my opinion - the bend along the top edge of the cover is easily the biggest detractor, but it doesn't look color breaking to me. More of a fold than a crease.

It looks like there are a few small color breaks near the team. If the dirt were cleaned off the BC and the press cleaned up the overhang 9.2, but a 9.4 would not surprise me. 9.0 as is. Did you get your last half dozen books from the same collection? If so, helluva score (thumbs u

I want to say 9.2 but for the top edge and two white spots on the cover. Solid 9.0 though with shot at 9.2.

I was thinking 8.5 to 9.0, but I can't find much besides the top edge.
