So, there's a piece of tape inside top left cover, that someone during its travels used to try to rebuild that corner. They also used a (much lighter) brown marker to touch it up. There are some other spots of CT around the spine down the brown area, as well as across the top. All can be seen in the pics.

 

So, besides a grade, what do you all think about CT removal on this? Upside, price will increase if it gets a blue label. Downside, removing pieces of comics just seems plain wrong, and the grade drop might offset the restored drop(though I don't believe so).

CT and Restoration aside I would say 3.0. 3.0 will allow up to a 1/2"triangle to be removed from the corners. Anymore than that and it will drop to 2.0-2.5. So price wise it would be 2.0 blue label versus a 3.0 purple label.

Matt will accept or reject it. If you want to have the restoration removal, submit it to him to see if he can remove or not. If he can't remove it, he will reject the submission and return it back to you.

not to karp the thread, but in order to remove the CT at the top corner, that means cutting away that area? Does this method also apply to the CT areas at the staples and on the spine?

I'd leave it alone. 3.0 PLOD. I wouldn't sweat the tape, but that CT will be tough to remove. It would not hurt to send it to Matt for confirmation. Nice book btw.
