Its how they seal the comic

I wasnt sure if I was saying it wrong, if it was rather referred to as the sonic weld, but I think that is where the top and bottom of the actual case is sealed.

Also @GeeksAreMyPeeps it might not be as apparent on older style cases, but on the new ones it is more common or visible.  No worries, your not the first to ask, wont be the last, Lord willing you dont feel singled out either. I just tagged so that you could hear from more than just "me" as I dont know it all.

That's for sure. :cheers:

Sonic weld...nothing to worry about.  It's stress fractures you want to look for.

Ultimate Spider-Man 241 is the "Legacy" title and number of the issue.

Boy, I feel old. When I stopped buying new comics, we had Amazing and Spectacular. I'm thinking because it's issue 241 that it's been around awhile?

Hello

I am sorry that this happened to you.  I have spoke to the QC supervisor and the QC manager about this.  I will have to check and see if Excelsior Comics has to be involved, and I will send you a PM.  We will provide a shipping label, and pay for return shipping.  Look for a PM from me tomorrow.

Mike

Any updates?

I brought this up to management, and they were under the impression that you have already contacted customer service and they are handling the problem.  Is this true?

Could Excelsior Comics (that submitted the books for you) have contacted customer service about this previously?

I did not know that.  Learned something new today.

It's Marvel's newest way to have their cake and eat it too.  Whichever numbering system gets to an "anniversary" they can do a special double-priced issue.  For example, here is the 10th issue of the series you referenced, with the "250" prominently displayed...

Well if we could have "Collectors Issue!" plastered all over number 1 issues or key appearances, then why not have a dual numbering system

Incredibly dumb, but not as dumb as some

That's terrible. It would have made more sense if you accidentally got the ASM label. But on the bright side it looks like they adjusted the FF label so The Thing doesn't get covered anymore so you got that going for ya :eyeroll:

SO I'll await others as there is valued wisdom in numbers I'm sure @Point Five I'm sure you're glad that I rang you lol @STORMSHADOW_80 @PunisherPunisherPunisher

@Galen130

I mean, the other cases have the weld, but they don't look chopped up like that.

It would be nice if they kept some consistency with the logic behind legacy numbering. Typically it's adding up the issues of a character's various series, regardless of what it was named. But for Miles to be at 250, I'm assuming they're adding up all of the Ultimate Spider-man issues with Ultimate Peter Parker as well as Miles's issues?

Start a new thread: "Where in the world was the quality control at Marvel?"

The "legacy" numbers were interesting for characters like Venom, who had so many limited series and one-shots, but failed miserably for others, like Thor, which counted Journey into Mystery 1-82, prior to Thor's introduction, in order to accelerate the count to a big 700 issue.

The first 99 issues of Tales of Suspense were also counted twice, once for Captain America and once for Tales of Suspense: Hawkeye and Winter Soldier.

But as for Miles, here's their math, which includes issues of Ultimate Spider-Man prior to the introduction of Miles, but not Ultimate Fallout, which actually introduced Miles:

The Batman 497 was also a steal, as it is a third print that CGC didn't label as such, and CLink didn't catch it either.

Indeed! I started picking these out of dollar bins many years ago, because I liked the slight differences. The easy way to tell them apart is the logo; the 1st print has red lettering on a white bat, the 2nd has red lettering on a yellow bat, and the third has yellow lettering on a red bat. All three were made with the overlay, and also without. I know the second and third prints were available without the overlays as part of multi-packs, but I'm not sure if that was the exclusive origins of those books..

They are also all available with newsstand/upc logos, which also do not have the half sheet.

So, yeah, it's a lot to keep track of. Fun stuff!

@CGC Mike

Quality control issue as the book was graded on 4/1/22

And congrats to @F For Fake

this was an error on my part. Purchased this off ebay and didn't inspect it . ( I know better , even looking at it now graded and my previous raw scan you can clearly see the outer cover doesn't line up with interior cover and lower staple has issues. ) :facepalm:

I was tempted to just say this via PM, but you're not alone. I have a cgc sub that shipped, it got tracking yesterday. I noticed this morning that they didnt notate the mark jewelers in one issue/slab. I called 1st thing this morning.... guy told me, "well if it has tracking its basically out the door".

Cest le vi

I can do a mechanical error same as everyone, no worries, yet while on the phone it felt a bit like

 I still love you cgc, hope best forumites dont lose hope
