Looks like I grabbed a copy at the right time

 

I just did the same! Finally pulled the trigger on a nice presenting low grade copy. I've been in the market for this book for a while, but if Season 2 of Daredevil is any bit as good as Season 1 then ASM129 might get completely out of reach for my budget. Pretty excited to be finally joining this club!

I had some time on my hands so I decided to create excel spreadsheets with graphs to track the sale price of a few key books, including ASM 129 over time. I've done a separate graph for each grade and looked at past sales from ebay, heritage, comiclink, etc. I find it handy to see visually the long term trends in sale price, and whether or not a current grade is selling above or below trend. Here is quick example. For consistency's sake, I have omitted sales of SS and restored books

Looking for a bit of advice please. I'm looking to re-aquire some key books I sold a while back, and currently have enough for an ASM 129 in around the 8.5 range. Would it be foolish to purchase one now in the midst of the netflix hype? Historically, do prices settle back down, or should I pull the trigger before they go even higher? Would I be better off saving more to get a Hulk 181 in similar condition, seeing there is no movie or TV hype surrounding Wolverine? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How does Cgc grade ink spray onto the pages? I've seen several copies that have moderate to a good amount of spray from the webbing at the top of the front cover that gets to the interior pages, just curious if this affects the grade and how much.

Question for the ASM 129 society. I was at my LCS today and had my hands on a solid 7.5-8.0 raw copy that I can pick up for $600. This seemed like a really good price but funds are limited so... Just seemed like a shame to pass up on a great book so the question is : at this price is it worth a little financial belt tightening ?
