I’m not questioning the "limited" nature of the edition. What I have always questioned, and will always question, is the fact of producing an "exclusive" artificial collectible by means of a limited print run.

Yeah, I get that.

 

But people love the Con variants.

 

I fall prey to it myself on certain books.

My Saga RRPs are my pride and joys. And I understand they are a "manufactured" collectible.

A lot of collectors are completists/completionists (don't think either is a real word), so we have to have them all.

 

And they know it... And we are stupid enough to keep buying them.

What happened with the Bunker comicspro variant was - they distributed it almost exclusively to eBay

For weeks that variant sold for 30-50/per, then someone offered hundreds of them on eBay for 12.00, then it dropped to 10, then 8... It was painful to watch

So locally Silk 1 is just about sold out. I think I saw 2 copies left of normal cover. All my retailers underestimated demand. I am sure Spider-Gwen will be the same way.

 

Better track down ASM 4 while its still affordable in a week or two it wont be.

While all the focus was on Spider-Gwen, Silk was slowly picking up steam behind the scenes.
