Who was the Destroyer and what were his abilities?

The destroyer; as in Thor/Journey into Mystery?

As in Mystic Comics (vol. 1) #6-10

Yep, sorry...the Golden age Destroyer. I'm curious to what he could do, and any thoughts as to why he's not back in the modern age. Was he super lame, or what? I understand he was very popular in the 40's, much like Namor and Cap, so just wondering. I also read all the Invaders books when I was a kid, and loved the WW2 era heroes, but don't remember anything on him...looks like he missed the translation over to modern era like so many of the other heroes.

Love this character! I believe he was Stan Lee's first creation?

Quick run-down:

The Golden Age Destroyer was Keen Marlow (Destroyer Ia)

His first modern appearance was Invaders #18, a Bronze Age story set in WWII. But this guy was Brian Falsworth (Destroyer Ib), who later becomes Union Jack II. As far as I know they never explained the Brian/Keen thing.

And yes the Kirkman series was pretty neat.
