I never really enjoyed Jackman as Wolverine except for Days of Future Past and Logan.

Jackman was a good Wolverine. If only he could have had that extra 12" in height removed.

I think Patrick Stewart's performance in Logan was better than every X film he did.

Actually, it was one of the few performances where we got to see just what a great actor he is. He earned his knighthood

Taking a character who’s already iconic and not only continuing that legacy but expounding upon it, taking the character into the realm of the immortal, is no small feat or easy exercise. But Jackman and Mangold pulled it off with aplomb.

One of my favorite details about this film is that they put Logan in ill-fitting undershirts to make him look older and disheveled. I mean, he's still ripped, but it's a more realistic look than a skin-tight wifebeater or spandex suit. One of the many things that adds to how great the movie is from a character-driven standpoint.
