Just thought I would jump-start this cool thread with a new acquisition. Straight from a super nice collection recently acquired by the BlazingOne, I give you ladies and gents a high grade My Love # 14 (Bob called it a VF+ and who am I to argue with the Bobster?) confused-smiley-013.gif

Man, those colors... I knew I shouldn't have taken the brown acid. insane.gif

Who did the cover btw? The hippy guy sorta looks Severin-ish.

According to OS, the cover art was done by Morrow. Ring any bells? confused-smiley-013.gif

That would be the late, legendary Gray Morrow, long-time artist for lots of Marvel books. First artist on Man-Thing, among others.

Just picked up a Western Gunfighters #7:

Hey George, have you finished your comprehensive picture-frame list yet?

Darn you Mike, you outbid me on that book! I should have ponied up the dough and bid more aggressively. Oh, the humanity! frustrated.gif27_laughing.gif

Yes, the list is finished and attached below. Anything marked with a "?" means I am either uncertain of whether it is a picturebox (because I couldn't find a cover online to verify) or it is a book that falls out of the normal date window or numerical sequence of the picturebox covers.

Would this issue be a part of the list?

101104ca.jpg

That is actually a reprint of Our Love Story # 14. Many of the My Loves and Our Love Storys numbering in the # 20s were reprints of the other title from a year or two back. They reprinted everything, including the pictureframe borders of the covers. Since these are reprints including covers (not reprints with NEW covers), and are generally 25-centers (Pictureboxes are always 20-centers), they didn't make my list. However, it is worth noting that the cover isn't EXACTLY the same...the colors have changed from the original (the girl on OLS # 14 had auburn hair, and the color of the audience's clothes and hair in some instances are different too).

As for the corrections to the list:

- Amazing Adventures # 18 is indeed not a Picturebox. Not sure why I had it as one. Brainfart? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

- Thanks for the correction on the Sgt. Fury # 93, that was indeed my bad.

- War is Hell # 4-6 are close to being Pictureboxes, but I agree, they aren't and haven't really bothered to collect them.

Any additional changes/updates/suggestions to the list, let me know.

Darn you Mike, you outbid me on that book! I should have ponied up the dough and bid more aggressively. Oh, the humanity! frustrated.gif27_laughing.gif

I put a pretty good snipe on that one...thanks for keeping it reasonable. smile.gif

Nice list you have put together! There are some tough books in high grade on there. The humor, romance, and westerns are all brutal. When you finish, you've got to post them.

Corrections:

Our Love Story #12 is a fifteen center (non-picture box)

Our Love Story #13 is a 25 center non-picture box.

Many thanks for compiling the list, Jive. Since you've got the other 25 centers listed as such, I'll mention that the DD81 is a quarter book, too.
