Distributers ink on top and bottom edges and two color breaks on the spine. Bottom back cover has waves from the distributers ink overspray.

Sending to CGC so I'm interested in any ideas on grade

Its a nice copy I have owned since 1986. I paid $75 for it then. I just shipped the book with three other books to CGC in today's mail. I will update this thread when I get it back. Thanks for the replies.

That's a crazy price back then, as even after the Limited Series hit, I think it was a $20 book at worst. Maybe it was 1988?

I think 8.5 is fair. I'm happy because the dealer I bought it from gave me a huge break on price due to the distributers ink.

Now I know you're a little mixed up when you bought this.

Maybe it was 1987. (shrug) I bought two copies. The owner knocked off $50 for this copy's overspray. I paid $125 for the other copy. I'm sure NM guide was in that $100 - $125 range.

It's funny both graded the same at 8.5. All the Los Angeles area comic shops in the mid to late 80's were giving out easy NM grades for items they were selling. :preach:

I think it was $20 in 1986 and $25 in 1987, but then it exploded to $100 in 1988 or so, then jumped to $500 by the 90's.

Then again, some dealers regularly inflated prices past guide for "hot" books.
