Divinity - first new title character from Valiant gets its own CGC forum topic

The first wave is back from CGC: I submitted 14 raw copies and 17 triple-signed copies of Divinity #1A. The unsigned books arrived today. A pretty good haul. Out of 14, 2 are graded at 9.6 and 12 at 9.8.

Can someone explain why CGC doesn't notate Divinity #1 as the 1st appearance of Abram Adams?

 

I mean the whole entire story arc is about him is it not? Or am I missing something and he appeared somewhere else prior?

Unlikely that CGC marks new books from small publishers with any notations. They eventually catch up, but aren't proactive.

 

Divinity #1 is the first Abram. Previews are just previews.

It's annoying that CGC notes the indica issue on Divinity though. They note Indica reads "February 2014" but not the 1st appearance of Abram Adams.

Considering that they list the publication date on every slab, the date in the indicia seems an important thing to note (i.e. they're calling out an error in the publication date info)

If you crack a slab to get a new signature they'll note the date of the original sigs and the date withe the new one(s); assuming, of course, that the cracking of the slab and the new sigs are done in the presence of a CGC rep.

Absolutely. Just bring them to a can where both he and CGC are present. Keep in mind that it's going to cost you another SS grading fee.
