Highest price paid for ToS 39?

15 posts in this topic

Just curious what the current ceiling on this bad boy is. I've purchased two copies, one in the mid-70's for ten bucks (quadrupled my money on resale!) and a nice 4.0 for $1,400 around '09 or so.

I also recall, when I returned to collecting around '08, someone had (or more likely claimed to have) the complete OA on Ebay for one million. Any truth to that? Seems like the kind of thing that would be well known if legit.

Well, the Pacific Coast copy in 9.6 sold at Heritage in July 2012 for $262,900 and I think another non-pedigree copy sold for the same price a year later.

And GPA lists a copy in 4.0 as having sold a few weeks ago for $3,752 so nice pick up fyi.

Did I just miss a 9.0 ow/w at auction or is that something I just think I read.

See what happens when you're drinking and looking at comics. :)

I'll take the shot, but I would have to sell my 8.5 soon after. Doug seems to get very high prices for his books. That 26k sale for an 8.5? Is that a real sale? This was a 16k book for half a decade. Where is the guy that bid 25.5k? :)

For the most part, Doug's high-end books end up on ebay/ComicLink for the flip. He does however still also hold a niche of high grade SA Marvel customers.
