I know I went about it all the wrong way, and that it's probably for the best it fell through. But I do still have niggling doubt that just maybe he was telling the truth and I'm missing the chance of a great deal. Make of it what you will, I've only edited it to remove personal details.

Sorry I just don't buy it... How hard can it be to take a few decent pictures and send them me via email? You are looking to sell these yeah? It'd take you all of 5 minutes. It's a 120 mile round trip I'm looking at here, if I had the slightest indication of what you have available then my decision to travel or not is made easy. The ..... looks excellent and that alone is probably worth the drive but why bother when I can buy it via .... and save myself a long trip, hopefully the auction will run its course and I'll have a chance on it.

I've done my bit fella, I raised over 9 ton... And I was greatly looking forward to buying a collection not just one book. Whatever happens, I wish you the best of luck with the sale.

All right super! Please get the pictures to me though, I'm not so into surprises when it comes to something like this. Is there a price you'd accept for the lot of them together? I've only been collecting comics a short time and so I'd like to put in some research prior to making my offer to buy which I'm sure you understand. It's not exactly pocket change is it? I need more information that's all, the issue numbers of each and every book would be perfect but I realize that's a lot of work so it's why I ask for photo's and I can work from those. Just a broad range of the numbers would be helpful alongside photos.

At the end of the day, I'll be happy with just ............, it's worth the drive alone, been trying for months to get a copy of that!

The guy has not sent pictures or given me any indication as to what's in the rest of the collection other than lots of Batman and all in great condition. He is being very cagey about the whole thing. It transpires he's selling them for a 'friend' who moved into a house and found them in the loft!

I have no problem with the OP, I like a good bait thread as well as the next guy.

 

The only issue I have with this one is that it's unoriginal and not funny. The OP shouldn't change their user at all, this is a great start for someone intent on appearing either as;

 

a) a bait thread starter, or

b) a insufficiently_thoughtful_person

 

In either case it's adding colour and interest to the board and at least isn't wishing people who he has never met a happy birthday, or brown nosing old established board members.

 

Which is a refreshing change in itself.
