Yet another AF15 scam?

71 posts in this topic

The book that has less art work at the top has more art work at the bottom. So, it's not the same book.

The seller relisted the book with the actual raw version. He really did appear to have two copies. (I wonder what became of the other one...)

His new listing states: "For those of you who viewed this when I listed it earlier please note:

I had confused books and the pictures showing book prior to grading were of a different copy.

A clear-eyed eBayer alerted me to this and I pulled the book off eBay. I have included one picture here of the book prior to grading.

Thank you for understanding, an apology, and a thank you to our eBayer who caught my mistake."

I believe that "thank you" goes to somebody else here (Domo Arigato), though I am the one who contacted him.

I caught it but the guy is lucky you contacted him.

That's a pretty big mistake on a book with an asking price of $40,000.

Reprint being passed off as the real thing:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Fantasy-Aug-1962-Marvel/201622926523

Wow that one is brazen.

Just laughable.

Let's see...

0 Feedback -- CHECK

No item description from seller other than pasted info -- CHECK

At least one blurry photo -- CHECK

Hope I can bid before it's taken down by eBay for being "too-good-to-be-true".

It's still up. Needs more reports?

No, the old link has been taken down and the seller has been naru'd. (It was a zero-feedback seller.) So, when you click on the link now, it just takes you to AF15 search results and the top one happens to be from the same seller that is in the second link.
